ENHANCE is a three-day recreational holiday programme for dancers of all backgrounds and levels of ability. Facilitated by NZSD and supported by leading Hip Hop and contemporary dance artists. Discover new skills, refine movements and explore new ideas!
Enhance is open to wāhine and tāne aged 13 through to recent high school leavers, with workshops designed for dancers of all experience levels.
Dates: Thursday 9 – Saturday 11 April 2026, 10am - 3.30pm
Registration fee: $50 (The registration fee is non-refundable. There are no additional workshop fees.)
Venue: Te Whaea: National Dance and Drama Centre
What is Hip Hop? Through cypher, popping, locking and breaking, hip-hop dance has evolved into one of the most popular and influential styles of dance.
What is Contemporary Technique? It simulates an expression of full body movement and awareness. Using floorwork, standing combinations and elevation off the floor. These elements allow the whole body to move in a unique way.
What is Improvisation? Learn essential tools for improvised dance movement through the understanding of creative impulses and finding freedom in your movement.
What is Creative Composition? Creative composition you will begin exploration into your own unique style and learn skills to create movement.
