Over two full days, you’ll work closely with NZSD faculty to strengthen your technique, explore key elements of contemporary practice, and gain insight into what full-time training at NZSD is really like.

This programme is ideal if you want to:

  • Build a strong and confident technical foundation
  • Develop your skills in improvisation, contact, partnering and composition
  • Learn directly from tertiary-level tutors and experience NZSD’s approach to training
  • Deepen your understanding of the dance industry and what’s required for a professional pathway

Throughout the programme, you’ll also have the opportunity to focus on your own creative ideas, learning how to shape and develop choreography through guided tasks and exploration.

You’ll hear from NZSD third-year students about their choreographic process and how they collaborate to create original works, culminating in attending a live performance as part of our Choreographic Season.

The programme includes a Q&A session, giving you the chance to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of life and training at NZSD.
