The Jerome Robbins Foundation have offered a Scholarship to several International students attending the New Zealand School of Dance. This funding has been provided specifically for international students who have been finalists at the Youth America Grand Prix. Jerome Robbins established the Foundation in 1958 in honor of his mother, with the intent to support dance, theatre, and their associative arts. Later, following the outbreak of AIDS, he directed Foundation resources to the AIDS crisis. Before his death, Mr Robbins conveyed his wish that the Foundation extend its resources to the performing arts – dance and theatre especially, though not exclusively.
