Choreographic Season 2013

AND THEN IT MOVED
15 - 25 May 2013
Te Whaea: National Dance & Drama Centre

And Then it Moved is an innovative dance show incorporating live music, games and unexpected theatrical elements.
Ten choreographers from the New Zealand School of Dance present new works of brave and inventive dance.
They have collaborated with composer Thomas Press, cellist and composer Charles Davenport, and voice artist Flo Wilson, along with lighting and costume students from Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School to create a very physical, tightly produced show.
Every year contemporary dance students are challenged to choreograph their own piece in their final year. This year’s talented dancers have made works that are personal, emotive and comical. For the first time, in Choreographic Season 2013, the students are breaking some of the traditional boundaries of performance, taking the audience on a journey that will move them both conceptually and physically.
