The New Zealand School of Dance believes in safe dance practice and injury risk prevention.

All students undergo a screening process, orthopaedic and medical examination before entry into the New Zealand School of Dance. Further screening occurs throughout their training at the School to ensure peak quality performance is maintained.

The physiotherapy service is open to all students for assessment, diagnosis and injury management. We encourage early detection and intervention. The New Zealand School of Dance physiotherapist, Susan Simpson works closely with sports physicians, orthopaedic specialists and other allied health professionals to ensure the highest quality of care is delivered to all students. Individual programmes are designed for the students to achieve these goals.
